Jehovah-Raah “The Lord My Sheperd”

Mar 29, 2017

Jehovah Raah

Putting our hope and trust in God may seem easier said than done, especially if the circumstance or situation that surrounds us is contrary to what the Holy Spirit is telling us. In a situation like that, asking God for the grace to see through His eyes will boost our faith and help us to overcome every doubt and unbelief.

Sometimes we may not have the resources to do what He wants us to do. But if He is telling us to walk through a door, He will also back us up and make a way for us where there seems to be no way.

There may be other times God can tell us “I am your Shepherd, I want you to wait right here and sit.”

God’s timing is different from ours. We don’t know exactly when He will tell us “it’s time to go.”  These seasons can be the hardest. However, He is the Good Shepherd, and He knows what is best for us. We can ask Him for grace to hold on, and not walk when He is telling us to “stop” or “sit.” God always gives us grace for every season of our lives.

There are a few things we can do during the “waiting seasons.” We can spend some time to praise and worship Him, meditating on His word and promises, soaking ourselves in prayer before His presence while getting prepared for when He tells us “it’s time to go.”

We don’t want to wander away from our Shepherd because that can pull us back and we may have to start our journey all over again.

Our Prayer and Proclamation

Jehovah Raah, you are the Good shepherd, my Protector, my Friend and my Guide.

Let your light shine on my path as I go on in my life’s journey.

Let your Rod and Staff comfort me. Let your protective hands be a shield for me.

When you call my name, I pray that I will hear your voice and walk in obedience to your call and instructions.

Listening to your voice and obeying your instructions is very important in my walk with you; therefore, I pray for a heart of obedience to your voice and a humble spirit of submission to your instructions.

Sometimes my rational mind may try to get in the way of what you are instructing me to do, in these moments I ask for your grace to stay in line with your idea and your vision.

You are the God of yesterday, today, tomorrow, the future and forevermore, help me not to dwell on yesterday or the past, but to continue walking with you looking ahead to reach the goal that you have for all your children.

Your thoughts of me are of peace and not evil to give me a hope and a good future (Jer.29:11). Help me to walk into the future and hope that you have for me before I was conceived in my mother’s womb.

You said your sheep hear your voice, and they follow you; they will not follow the voice of a stranger (John 10:3-5).

Help me to submit to your guidance in my walk with you. Let your will be my will, let your idea be my idea, let your goal for my life be my goal.

Help me not to wander away from your flock, but to stay connected to you in humility and in reverence of your power and love for me as my Good Shepherd.

Help me to be obedient to you continually, trusting you always as the Good Shepherd of the sheep who will not allow me to fall into a ditch.

Help me to be obedient to you continually, trusting you always as the Good shepherd of the sheep who will not allow me to fall into a ditch.

If you would like to be able to Ask Jesus questions like we do in many of our blogs and have Him answer back to you personally, we can show you how.  Please see our foundational teaching on 4 Keys to Hearing God's Voice.  If you already know how to have these conversations, join the discussion and share what Jesus is saying to you!
