Coaching Concentration

CLU is excited

to launch our new courses in Professional Christian Life Coaching. These courses will equip and train you to be a Life Coach from a Christian standpoint. Life Coaching comes out of our personal life’s experiences. These courses will help you to identify your niche in coaching in order to be able to help others in their journey to success and the fulfillment of their goals and God’s plan for their lives.

What exactly is the role of a coach?

As a coach, you will be walking alongside others to empower, inspire, motivate and challenge them to achieve and exceed their personal and professional goals in life.

How is Life Coaching different from counseling?

Life coaching is not counseling or therapy! Counseling helps others to resolve and heal the pain, hurt or trauma they have experienced in the past or are experiencing in life. A counselor gives advice to the client/counselee.

A Life Coach helps the client to focus on the present and on the clients’ short-term and long-term goals. The coach helps the client in moving forward on their journey to achieve their goals and life’s purpose by helping the client create a plan, detailed action steps and making the client accountable to follow through and achieve those goals.

Why would you want to be a Christian Life Coach?

If you like to help others tap into their full potentials, grow spiritually, build their confidence, have a more meaningful life, and hold them accountable to achieve what they really want to do or be in life, then coaching is for you. Jesus was a Coach to His disciples; He taught them, guided them, encouraged and directed them on how to fulfill the goal of God’s Kingdom and be overcomers despite all the adversities they faced.

What you will learn in the Life Coaching courses?

Our Life Coaching courses start from Certificate level to Graduate degrees. You will learn how to use different tools and techniques which will equip you with the skills necessary to become an effective listener and communicator, and set goals and achieve them

CLU certification will be offered to students who have completed all the required courses with internship during the duration of their degree.

Online Coaching Degrees

The courses listed below may be taken as a Coaching Certificate or applied as a major concentration toward any of the following online Coaching Degrees:

  • Associate of Christian Life Coaching

  • Doctor of Christian Life Coaching

Additional work is required when an undergraduate-level course is taken on the graduate level. Course substitutions and combining major concentrations are possible when working toward your Bible Degree online. Discuss these options with the Dean. The key is to follow God’s passion within your heart. To receive a Coaching Certificate a student must complete a minimum of 10 of the courses below. One of them must be Communion With God. Students in the Master’s and Doctoral programs earn approximately 30 credits for each degree from specific courses, and the remaining 10 credits by doing practical ministry work and earning “practica” credits.

All Christian Life Coaching students have to take Intro to Christian Life Coaching (101) and  Intro to Basic Christian Life Coaching Skills course (102) before they can move forward into their focus degree/certificate in Christian Life Coaching. The first two courses will guide them in knowing their niche or the area where they would like to focus on as a Christian Life Coach.

Communion With God - REN103/503

Have you ever wished you could sit down and have a long talk with the Lord? When you’re worried or confused, wouldn’t you love to see the situation from His perspective and hear how He wants you to respond? When things don’t seem to be going your way and your prayers aren’t answered the way you had hoped, wouldn’t it be great to hear Him tell you where He is in the midst of it, and what He is working out in your life?

Jesus promised that “My sheep hear My voice” (Jn. 10:27). If you are one of His sheep, then He is speaking to you and you are hearing His voice! The problem is that we have not learned how to recognize His voice and differentiate it from all of the other voices that bombard our hearts and minds. This course will help you discern the voice of the Lord within your heart, clearly and consistently, leading to a deeper intimacy with Him as well as greater faith, hope and joy. Your life will be transformed! (3 credits for REN103; 4 credits for REN503) (Course syllabus: REN103; REN503)
