Insecurities Vanished Through Visions from God

I was perusing through some of my past journals from Counseled by God and came upon a couple of visions that I thought would minister to those who feel inadequate or insecure about themselves in some way. Some of us may not know the root of our issues, but I know for myself, it all began with a lie that I believed.

We all know that satan is the father of lies who breeds lies. He is a master at twisting the truth, and if we are not able to discern which voice we are listening to, then we can easily be deceived by him. His prime target is the destruction of our destinies in God. We assist him in accomplishing his vile mission is when we believe his lies as truths set in stone.

I was once a believer of his lies. I believed lies about myself that were spoken to me by both adults and children as far back as I can remember. Many have dissipated over time ever since I gave my life to Jesus and allowed Him to heal me, but there were a few that I still had trouble letting go of. I knew about deliverance and practiced it. I even knew the basics of spiritual warfare. But what I did not know was that I also needed inner healing that could only come from the finger of God. It was time to know the truth and release the lies.

Here are two of my journals that began with a spiritual warfare and ended with the surrendering of my insecurity and inadequacy issues with the help from Jesus.

Journal #1:
Scripture: II Corinthians 10:4-5 ~ For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.

(In a vision, I saw myself as a little girl who was holding Jesus’ hand as He took me along a beautiful path lined with trees on both sides. Their branches grew high and arched toward one another, forming a canopy over us. The colors were like a beautiful oil painting. I was enjoying the scenery until I asked Jesus about the Scripture. The next thing I knew, I was dressed in full armor and became a separate person from the little girl. I initially stood next to the girl, but soon found myself growing larger and larger until all I saw was darkness above me. I started battling these evil-looking creatures that were trying to grab my face and tear it. I used my shield to ward them off, and then I used my sword to slice them in half. There were so many of them! They were relentless in their attack, but I was determined to fight and not let them destroy me. I had the strength to fight, and I knew it was necessary because I was doing it for that little girl below.)

GOD: Your battles are not fought here on earth among men, but your battles occur in the heavenly realm. I have shown you the importance of being covered with the armor—My armor—to fight the many demons that will try to attack and destroy you. Fight them and do not become weary in fighting. You must use everything I have provided for you to win your battles. Do not be intimidated by the enemy who tries to beat you down and make you forget that you are a child of the Almighty God. You must know in your heart who you are, and use your authority in Me to defeat the enemy. It is My power that will defeat the enemy’s schemes. Nothing can stand against Me. You are protected by My Spirit for as long as you dwell in Me. Surround yourself with My hedge of protection, and do it daily. Do not allow the enemy to come near you. Wear My armor and be vigilant, for you know not when the enemy will strike. Always be on guard for he is crafty and will find every person or thing to distract you from your love for Me.

Keep your eyes on Me at all times. Make it a habit in your daily life. Be mindful of My Presence even in the midst of people. They who do not know Me will think very little of what you share about Me in your life, but don’t let that discourage you. Keep your mind stayed on Me, and you will not sin against Me. With each new day, I will make My teachings clearer and clearer until your very being is saturated with the Truth.

Journal #2:
Scripture: John 8:44 ~ You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father.  He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him.  Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

(In a vision, I saw myself sitting on the giant rock on the beach and holding what looked like a plastic letter-sized portfolio, but I could not see what was in it. I held it on my lap, waiting for Jesus to come. Suddenly the rock turned a dark color, the sand turned to razor-sharp black coral, and the waves came crashing beneath my feet. Everything turned dark. I called out to Jesus, but He did not come. I sensed the enemy was trying to instill fear in me by telling me that Jesus was not coming. I called out to Him again, and then I heard His voice tell me to get off that rock and go to where He was. I did not know where He was, but I obeyed and jumped off the rock. When I turned to my right, there stood Jesus. Everything around Him was sunny and peaceful.)

GOD: Why are you holding on to that portfolio? It contains all the lies satan has spoken over you to destroy you. Do not hold on to it anymore. Lay it at My feet.

(I obeyed and laid the portfolio at His feet on the sand. Jesus immediately stepped on it and crushed it. It no longer existed; it seemed to have vanished into the sand.)

GOD: My child, do not let the enemy do this to you. He will tell you things that will make you feel incompetent and depressed, and he will use others who already have the spirit of accusation, of lies, of bitterness, and of jealousy. Do not accept their words. Remember the vision I had given to you of what happens in the heavenliness and how you fought the demons and defeated them. Rebuke the evil one’s words, and use My armor to protect yourself against his fiery darts at all times.

It has been four years since I had those visions, and I just realized that I no longer have those crippling lies dwelling within me. When I think back to how I was set free from them through those visions, I am still amazed. Most importantly, I am reminded to never limit God in how He chooses to heal or change us. Whichever way He chooses, it will always work.
