Praying for the salvation of a loved one can seem discouraging if we do not see positive changes. We must not give up despite what we observe on the outside. The greatest gift we can give to an unsaved loved one is to earnestly pray for them. We should trust God to remove the scales from their eyes so they can see His love for them.
We can also pray for them by taking the prayer request to the Courtroom of Heaven using this prayer: CWG ministries: Courtroom of Heaven Prayer. Present your case before the Judge of Heaven and Earth against the conflicts you see in the person. (I.e. rebellion, anger, fear, unbelief, disobedience, foundational curses and so on).

Then come back and use the prayer below for ongoing confession and declaration over the person. This is not a quick fix, but a journey of faith and trust in the Lord. We have to trust God to fulfill and accomplish His will and purpose in our lives, and in the lives of those we are praying for. He is able to save, deliver, and set the captives free, (Isaiah 49:24-25).

Our prayer is like a seed sown. We then trust God to water the seed and make it grow. Eventually, the seed will break out through the soil into the physical and become vibrant in the life of the person we are praying for. Even if you do not see changes right away, keep on praying for the person as you are led by the Holy Spirit. God is faithful and He will reward you. You should use the prayer below as a declaration over the person regularly. It could be for thirty, forty days, and so on as the Lord leads you. You can also reword this prayer in a way that applies to your situation and those of your loved ones.

Prayer

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people… This is good, and pleases God our Savior,  who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:1,3,4 NIV

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32 NIV

Lord Jesus, you are the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through you. I thank you for (____________), I know you love ______________, and your heart for ____________ is to be saved. I stand in the gap for _______________ claiming your promise of salvation that whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. On _____________behalf I call upon your name Lord Jesus to save and deliver  ____________from the deceit of the enemy. Remove the veil covering ___________eyes from seeing the truth of your love and the gospel.

I stand on the word of God from 2 Cor. 10:5 “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” NIV

In the name of Jesus Christ, I demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God in (____________) life. I also take captive every thought in ___________ mind and thought patterns, and make them obedient to Jesus Christ.  Lord Jesus, I ask that you remove every ungodly authority over (______________) life, and establish your holiness and your Godly authority in every area of  (____________) life.

I declare that according to John 8:32 (______________) will know the truth and the truth will set (_____________) free in Jesus’ name. I also declare that (_______________) will be a vessel in God’s hands to build the old waste places; to raise up the foundations of many generations, and be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Paths to dwell in according to Isaiah 58:12.

I seal my prayers with the blood of Jesus!
